Why Puddle & Wear exists
Most kids' clothing today is built to be thrown away. Cheap synthetic blends, worn a handful of times, outgrown in months — and because those fabrics can't be recycled, nearly all of it ends up in landfill. Multiply that by every growth spurt from newborn to age twelve, and one child can leave behind hundreds of discarded garments.
I started Puddle & Wear because I believe there's a better loop. When one well-made garment is shared by eight or ten families — cleaned, repaired, and passed along instead of thrown out — everything changes. Kids get to wear genuinely high-quality clothes, the kind most of us hesitate to buy at retail. Parents stop paying full price for fabric that gets worn twice. And far less ends up in the ground.
That's the whole idea: a circular wardrobe for Metro Vancouver's kids. Better clothes, lower cost, and a lighter footprint — all from the same closet.
